I was appointed to the Police Authority in July 2009 as a Lancashire County Council appointee. I am a local politician for some 16 years, serving all those years on Penwortham Town Council, eight years on South Ribble (four years as a Cabinet Member), and at present in my tenth year as a County Councillor.
Having owned and operated two retail outlets for nineteen years, a former company director of two companies and a union branch secretary of the National Graphical Association I feel I have a wealth of experience to offer to the Authority.
I have an interest in all strands of policing, in particular local community policing. I believe the Police Authority should ensure the police have the resources to operate effectively in an efficient manner, always with an eye on value for money.
I am keen to promote a better understanding of the Police Authority and would be pleased to receive any e-mails from the public requesting more information.
