Independent Lay Members - Audit & Standards Committee
Lancashire Police Authority is seeking to appoint two Independent Lay Members to its Audit and Standards Committee from the 1st November 2008.
The Police Authority is responsible for maintaining an efficient and effective police service in Lancashire. The Audit and Standards Committee is responsible for:-
- ensuring that the highest ethical standards are maintained by both Members and Officers of the Authority. (The Committee does not deal with Standards matters relating to the Constabulary.)
- overseeing internal and external audit activity and ensuring the effectiveness of the Authority’s internal control systems.
You will need to demonstrate the qualities necessary to operate as a ‘non executive director’ of the Authority. You must also live or work in the Authority area and have no prior connection with the Authority’s work or its Members/Officers.
