Where is my local
PAC meeting?

Our public meetings are called Police Authority Community Meetings (PACs) and represent a partnership of community residents, Police Authority Members and senior Police Officers meeting together on a regular basis to work co-operatively to identify and deal with crime within Lancashire communities.

These public meetings take place in each policing district three times a year and are chaired by a locally nominated individual. The constitution of the PAC meetings can be found below.

Where is my local PAC meeting?

The meetings encourage members of the public to ask questions or raise concerns direct to senior Police Officers. It gives residents the opportunity to ask about issues such as crime and public safety, community safety and other general policing matters. These meetings also give the Authority the chance to consult with the public about their priorities for policing.

As a part of an ongoing review looking at how we engage with the public we have undertaken a review of our Police Authority Community Meetings (PACs) and the final report was presented to our External Relations Committee.

Whilst no final decision has yet been made on the future of PACs, the External Relations Committee has agreed that a Community Engagement Working Group should be formed to look at a community engagement strategy.

NOTE: Our public meetings (PACs) should not be confused with the Constabulary PACT meetings. A PACT (Police And Communities Together) meeting is a localised meeting to focus on crime or problems significant to that 'neighbourhood' and provides residents with the opportunity to raise issues with their local dedicated officer and form 'priorities' for the area.
