Community Engagement

During 2007/2008, Lancashire Police Authority reviewed how we engage with the public and set up a Community Engagement Working group to look at the Community Engagement Strategy.

Our new approach will replace our traditional Public meetings (PACs) and give both the public and partners more opportunity to have their say and influence policing decisions in Lancashire.

Local Roadshows

Following the success of this approach, we will hold 14 roadshows each year at Supermarkets in each division. Roadshows enable us to gain a snap shot of public opinion on policing. Face the Public

Your local community safety partnership will hold at least one local meeting each year. Generally these meetings will involve the key partners such as the local council, Fire and Rescue, Primary Care Trust, Lancashire Constabulary and Lancashire Police Authority. These meetings give the opportunity for the public to raise questions to these partners. Lancashire Police Authority will attend these events and welcome your views and questions.

Hutton Open Day

Lancashire Constabulary holds a public open day each year which the Police Authority attends and this provides the opportunity for the public to give us views on policing and feedback on the work of Lancashire Police Authority.

Opinion

We have a panel of 4000 Lancashire residents and these people answer questionnaires three times each year on policing. The panel is refreshed to ensure that ‘new’ views are gained. Please email us if you would like to become involved in our Opinion panel.

Website

Through our website you can give us your views. We have mini polls, questionnaires and an issue of the month section where you can give us feedback. You can also email questions and comments regarding Lancashire Police Authority and the role we undertake.
