Below are a series of bulletins produced by the Home Office on the establishment of police and crime commissioners (PCCs) and in particular on their potential relationship with other local leaders. These regular updates will run until the introduction of PCCs in November 2012 and will keep you informed about what we are doing at the centre and what opportunities there are for partners to get involved locally.

More information will now be available to the public on the police.uk website as part of the Government’s commitment to drive greater transparency across the Criminal Justice System. The announcement of Chief Constable Keith Bristow as the first head of the National Crime Agency, as well as detail on the Tilley Awards which for the first time allows the public to vote for the project that has had the most positive impact on their local communities through partnership working.
Includes a link to the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act and further details on the transition to PCCs programme, an update on future funding arrangements, and information on the Home Office support and modernisation fund.
Provides a summary of the current position of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill and details of some of the work being taken forward by the Home Office to enable an effective transition.
